Meal Planning

Meal planning has become such an important part in my life. It has helped me put delicious meals on the table in minutes because I took the time to plan out what we were going to have and made sure that I had everything that I needed to make that meal.  Let me share with you a few of my meal planning tips to help you get through the next couple of months with ease!

Meal Planning

Tip #1
Take an inventory of everything you have in your fridge, freezer and pantry.  This will help you use up what you already have in your home.  This can help you save some money on your grocery bill so you have more money for entertaining your friends or gifts for the family

Tip #2
Make a list of all the favourite family meals and new recipes that you would like to try.  This works really well when you are able to include your family in creating the list.  You can put symbols or coloured dots to determine who’s favourite meal belongs to whom.  This list helps me so much when creating my weekly meal plan.

Tip #3
Print off a monthly or weekly calendar from online or you can also pick up some great inexpensive ones from the dollar store, (I use a chalkboard calendar that was given to me as a gift over a year ago.) And start planning!  You determine what works best for you and your family, whether you plan for 3 days, 5 days, 1 week, 2 weeks or what I do, 15 days.  The reason I do 15 days is, that’s what works with my hubby’s pay schedule.  Use your inventory list plus your favourite meal list and write in your meals making your grocery list at the same time.

Keep in mind, this meal plan is not set in stone and you can change it any time you want!!!
